Not Me! Monday

Today I'm joining MckMama and lots of other bloggers in Not Me! Monday, where we are confessing many things that we absolutely did not do this week!  (Of course we didn't!)  You can click on over to her blog to see what other bloggers have not been doing!

Here are a few things I have not been doing:

I did not give into the craving for a LARGE Coke from one restaurant or anothereveryday in the month of January.  No way!  Not me! I have much more self-restraint than that.

I did not eat another entire package of candy this past week.  This week's culprit:  York mini peppermint patties.  (PAUL:  stop buying candy and leaving it at the house!)  And I did not quietly celebrate as I popped the last one in my mouth last night.  Nope.  Not me!

I did not send Zachary to school a day earlier than perhaps I should have last week while he was sick with asthma simply because I had to be up at the school to feed 70 people lunch!  While I was in charge of the teacher luncheon, I would not have sent my sick boy to school so that I could do my job. . . . (In my defense, I was at his school all day and could give treatments or take him to the doctor or whatever needed to be done.  AND he did just fine with the nurse's care and his teacher's close eye.)

I did not get drenched in the freezing, cold rain while carrying 60 large bread bowls out to my car on Thursday!  I did not fight the urge to have a really badattitude about wet jeans -- one of my all-time least favorite things on the planet!  (The truth is, Zippy and laughed at how amazingly wet I got during this excursion.  And I must shout out a big ol thanks to the lady who walked beside me with her umbrella for a few paces!  People are so amazing!!)

Speaking of amazing people, my sweet husband did not move my electric blanket to the living room for me so I could watch Zachary closely all night and enjoy my awesome blanket!  He did not point out to me with a little bit of sarcasm after reading my blog about missing my blanket, "Your blanket is portable, ya know."

I have not been really, really lazy in posting on my blog regularly, letting days go by with no posts.  Not me! You, my readers, are my #1 priority always even when my world is crashing down around me and I'm getting no sleep.  (But the awesome thing is, you would expect nothing less of me than to skip a day or two of posting so that I can care for my family!!  Thanks!)

I am not looking so forward to this week ahead of having NO SICK KIDS at home with me all week!  Chloe Baby, you do not get a week of being sick like your wimpy brothers did!  It's just Mama at home this week!!!

Not Me! Monday

Today I'm joining MckMama and lots of other bloggers in Not Me! Monday, where we are confessing many things that we absolutely did not do this week!  (Of course we didn't!)  You can click on over to her blog to see what other bloggers have not been doing!

Here are a few things I have not been doing:

I did not cancel on my mechanic 4 times in the past week and a half.  Nope.  Not me! That would seem rude and flaky -- two things I certainly am not!  I didn't call him and say I would bring my minivan to him on Friday, remember I would be busy at a conference and call him back to change it to Monday.  I then did notcall back a few minutes later after remembering my kids were out of school on Monday and reschedule to Tuesday.  I did not call on Tuesday explaining I had a sick child and would need to reschedule to Thursday.  And then, when my child was still sick on Thursday, I absolutely did not decide to just not show up simply because I was too embarrassed to call him again.  That would be the ultimate of silly and unreasonable.  And today I didn't ask Paul to call the mechanic and schedule for tomorrow so that I wouldn't have to embarrass myself again.  Nope.  Not me!

I have not spent 4 hours cleaning and organizing my bedroom in the last few days.  There is really no waymy bedroom could ever require that much work.  And I do not need to spend about 4 more hours in there to get it in shape. No. That would mean that I'm some sort of slob or something.  Not me!

I did not use my electric blanket this past week even on the days that it got up to 80 degrees outside.  That would be crazy.  I am not absolutely spoiled by the toasty-ness of my new blanket.  No way.  Not me!

Here are a few things I have not been doing:

This week I did not get the kids off to school and then go back to bed several mornings.  Severalmornings?  No!  Not me!

This week I also did not eat an entire package of chocolately minty Lindt balls!  No way!  Not me!(Paul, please stop buying me candy!  It is so sweet that you enjoy bringing me treats, but no more candy, please!  Try cash instead -- it's less fattening!)

I also did not put off doing laundry all week until the mountains of dirty laundry overtook my whole household -- leaving each family member with no clean undies or socks!  I always stay so on top of my household chores so I would never be so lame.  Nope.  Not me!

And while away at a conference for work, after receiving a text message about how well Zippy played in his basketball game I did not make an announcement to all of my new friends that "my 8-year-old made 2 goals in his game today!!!"  That would be bragging.  I don't brag.  Not me!

Not Me! Monday

Here are a few things I have not been doing:

I did not have to admit to a friend that my children don't even own winter coats.  I did not try to make it sound like a logical idea. . .  "it doesn't get that cold" . . .  "we just run from the car to the store or to church or to school" . . . "their daddy doesn't wear a coat either" . . . "we dress in layers" . . ."they're all warm-natured". . .   And I was notleft feeling like the worst mama on the planet after the conversation.

And I did not let another week go by with still not buying my kids coats!  My main reason is not that coats are expensive -- I could put no cost on the health and comfort of my children.

I have not already replaced batteries in 4 of Chloe's Christmas gifts!  That would be too ridiculous to admit.

We have not had close to no restrictions on playing wii since Christmas.  No way! I know and always follow the recommendations for restricting time on video games and television.  I would never let my children play and play and play on their new wii, without regard to exercise and playing outside.  Nope.  Not us.  And I certainly did notstay up two nights in a row after the children were in bed so that I could get my wii turn in!  Not me! That would be so childish.

I have not put off making my resolutions for a few days.  That would seem awfully silly to make New Year's resolutions the second week of the year.  Nope.  I'm always prepared and do things on time.  I am not that flaky!  Not me!

I did not ask my friend to pick up "a couple of things" from the store for me while she was going.  And I certainly did not then hand her a list with over 10 things on it!!  No way! That would be so out of line.  I wouldn't do something like that.

I am not already dreading this coming week and this coming basketball season.  I certainly have not been whining about it for a week.  I'm always careful with my attitude and never complain about the things I do as a mom.  I am not dreading taking Zach to practice on Monday, Elliot to practice on Wednesday and Thursday, and Zach back to practice on Friday.  I have not fought back tears over Elliot's practice going until 9:00PM!!!  Nope.  Not me!

And I most certainly did not get another driving ticket this week!!  That would mean that I've gotten 2 tickets in the last 2 months!!  And that would mean that I wasn't a careful driver.  That really did not happen to me.  And Ididn't deny the fact that I failed to stop at that red light.  And I surely did not then have to watch the video of the violation and watch myself run a red light right before my eyes!!  Nope!!  Not me!

Okay, I really need to stop before I confess all of my faults to you today. . . .  So, how about you?  Anything you'venot been up to?

Not Me! Monday

Today I'm joining MckMama and lots of other bloggers in Not Me! Monday, where we are confessing many things that we absolutely did not do this week!  (Of course we didn't!)  You can click on over to her blog to see what other bloggers have not been doing! Last week I made quite the confession about sending Chloe to school unfinished. My sweet mom read the post and was horrified!!  The temptation was not to be so honest in this week's Not me! Monday, but Mom's always taught me the importance of honesty in all circumstances.  So, Mom, quit reading now; this post might be another painful one for you to read.  Come back tomorrow.  :) And for the rest of you: This week I did not send Elliot to school in his size 14 jeans again.  Not me! No way would I send my size 10 child in size 14 jeans with the adjustable elastic band cinched up tightly so they wouldn't fall down around his ankles -- again!!  I always have my children's winter clothes bought and ready before the weather turns cold. And I did not send all 3 of my children to school in shorts and short sleeves on the day that a cold front was coming through.  And it wasn't a cold and windy 53 degrees when I picked them up from school.  No way! Not me!  I always watch the weather so I know how to dress the 3 little people who depend on me for their care. And I did not waste an entire day doing nothing on Friday.  I would never be so lazy as to go back to bed for a long nap after Paul left town and then spend a couple of hours in front of the computer instead of doing the laundry and housecleaning and errands that needed doing.  Not me! I always make the most of my days, and I never neglect my responsibilities. Not me! And I certainly did not feed my children fast food for 3 meals this weekend while Paul was out of town.  My children's health is way more important to me than that.  I wouldn't do something like that.  Nope.  Not me! And, lastly, I did not leave piles of clean laundry in my living room all weekend.  And I didn't purposely attempt to divert my eyes from it each of the 2,634,982 times that I walked through the living room.  No way!  Not me! Not Me! Monday

Today I'm joining MckMama and lots of other bloggers in Not Me! Monday, where we are confessing many things that we absolutely did not do this week!  (Of course we didn't!)  You can click on over to her blog to see what other bloggers have not been doing! This week I did not send Chloe to school with no breakfast and with her hair unbrushed.  I did not put her breakfast in her backpack with a note asking her teachers to feed her real quick before school.  And I certainly did not send a brush, detangle spray, and elastics and ask them to fix her hair real quick before school.  Not me!  No way!  I would never do something like that!  I always get up in plenty of time to get my children ready for school.  And I always leave plenty of time to feed Chloe before the bus gets here!  I did not send her to school in that condition.  Not Me!  I would be way too embarrassed! And I did not send Elliot to school in jeans that were 2 sizes too big because I haven't shopped for winter clothes for him yet.  Since he is a size 10, I did not send him in a size 14 with the little button/elastic waist band cinched up really tight.  And I certainly did not pull those too-big jeans out of the hand-me-down bin and put them on his body without washing them first.  No way!  Not Me!  I always send my children to school looking well-groomed and stylish and wouldn't think of sending him to school looking that pitiful.  Nope.  Not Me! And on Wednesday when I had a few friends over, I did not have dirty dishes in my sink that had been there for a couple of days!  Nope!  Not Me!  And those dishes were not still there when one of the friends came back over Sunday night!  No way!  I'm always quick to get the kitchen cleaned up after cooking, and I finish the job every time.  I would not leave dirty dishes in my sink for nearly a week!  Never!  Not Me! You get the idea, I suppose.  Any confessions to make that you certainly have not been doing?
